Great tax software

Overall this has been a great program, I've been using it for almost 10 years, I wouldn't trust my taxes to anyone else, gives me all the help and tools to get the job done!
What's great about it: quick, easy, all rules and help info right at the fingertips
What's not so great: paying for efiling state sucks

What's great about it: Logical, easy to follow, can start early and input the items you receive each day.
What's not so great: If you put something in incorrectly, sometimes the system just keeps propagating the error (e.g. erroneous 1099B)
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Compatibility issues

Had to dig for 3 days to figure out how to get updates and download the state form as continual error messages showed up. Found out it was a WIndows 10 compatibility issue. TurboTax had no written fixes anywhere and just stumbled on one from another user.
What's great about it: Auto fill of information
What's not so great: Wasn't directly compatible with Windows 10

After hours of reviewing and entering the required figures, my wife and I had fought a four figure tax bill down to $300. After double checking everything, I figured it was manageable but would require eating Ramen for a month or so to offset the extra pint of blood Uncle Sam was asking this year.
However, in the last "error check" Turbo Tax discovered I had missed a key checkbox on my vehicle mileage deduction, even though I had been over that section at least three times.
People, seriously. If you drove an extra forty feet for your employer and haven't taken the mileage deduction - do it.
TurboTax caught the error and had me correct it.
My glum evening was pleasantly reversed when I saw that red tally skyrocket into a green refund instead.
That, my friends, is a mood booster that puts Wellbutrin to shame.

To our friends at Turbo Tax, I put you somewhere between a steaming hot espresso and a box of fluffy kittens in terms of turning a bad situation into something good.
Thanks for another year of helping me not tear my hair out.
To put it in context, I tried a competitor software one year and owed a few hundred dollars.
A so called "expert" I went to one year still cost me over $500 in taxes - in a year I was in graduate school and living on a stipend! Her response was, 'well someone has to pay it."

Every year I've trusted TurboTax - that someone has been someone else!
What's great about it: Caught a simple oversight in my vehicle mileage input
What's not so great: Needs to come packaged with a box of xanax and merlot

Love using turbo tax

Overall I like using turbo tax, I get walked through everything which makes it go so much smoother and quicker than it would if I tried to do it myself.
What's great about it: Walks me through everything.
What's not so great: Certain things not always explained well

Turbo tax efiling

Overall the tool is efficient, quick and easy. There are a few screens and steps that could be confusing to people that aren't familiar with how windows work or where to input information. Otherwise I believe that this program and experience was chill and relaxed.

What's not so great: Some areas are a bit confusing
