Turbo Tax was easy to complete. When I ran into trouble I had last years return on my computer so I could compare and it helped me a lot. Felt confident that my information was as secure as was humanly possible.n Also if I forgot to get a document I could always close up the program, gather the information and return to the program. I also like the double-check feature, Although I did have to pay, I feel confident that all of my deductions were accounted for.
What's great about it: Cost Effective, Not to hard to do.
What's not so great: Could not find a phone number to call or chat with when I had a simple problem

I cashed in a lot of US savings bonds in 2015 at B of A.. The 1099 INT received from B of A was printed in small font. In TT I mistakenly entered interest in Box.1. When I got into my California state return, TT determined a large additional tax bill. Whoa! After a short review I was reminded that the State cannot tax US savings bond interest. Finally I corrected my Federal return input and ended up with a small refund from the State.
What's great about it: The detailed questions and explanations gave me confidence that my filings would be complete and accurate.
What's not so great: 1099 INT asked for Box ! info, and stated other boxes were uncommon. For me Box 3 for US savings bond int. important.

Best to file on your own

Still a bit hesitant to push the submit button, but haven't had any problems so far.
What's great about it: Simple steps walk you through every section
What's not so great: sometime can't find a previous screen

Simple and Reliable Tax return

I have used TurboTax for 5 or 6 tax seasons and it is a simple effective tax return method and seems to be much more cost affective then a professional service.
What's great about it: Simple and great that it pulls last years info, if a return user
What's not so great: price inrease each year

Overall great! My key complaint was an error message during the final review that told me there was "an error in Schedule H-T box a" that needed to be changed to either "yes" or "no". Not sure what that meant and help button did not provide any additional information or clarity on what I needed to do. All else seemed fairly clear.
What's great about it: Reapplied my data from previous years when needed
What's not so great: Identified mistakes, but mistake notice was unclear in terms of what to fix
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Helpful in a confusing situation

So I am a PhD student, and my income comes from a federal grant. Therefore my school does not provide any W2 forms and finding out how to file my taxes was confusing. TurboTax definitely clarified things, and made the process straightforward. My family all uses TurboTax, and I'm glad I did.
What's great about it: Helped me with a confusing income area
What's not so great: Had to work a little to find appropriate income areas

Turbo Tax comes through once again! Great comparison of previous year's return.
What's great about it: Always easy to use - Great support from intuit's website
What's not so great: Could have better help screens within program
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
