Awesome Product

Turbo Tax is an awesome product. They always make sure that your return is correct and that noting has been entered incorrectly. I use this to file for me and my wife; she has a W-2 and I file under my own business. This product is also greatly priced. Since I started using Turbo Tax, I have not even thought about using any other tax software!
What's great about it: Very easy, double checked everything, great price, makes doing taxes enjoyable
What's not so great: N/A

Does a satisfactory job doing my taxes

I have used TurboTax for many years and have been quite satisfied. However, I am finding it becomes increasing expensive due to the e-file fees, etc. Because of these costs, I will be looking at cheaper solutions for next year.
What's great about it: Reads previous year's info well, interacts with my brokerage accounts well
What's not so great: E-File charges are much too expensive.

Grows on you over time

I've been using TT for about 10 years, and the first few were a learning curve. Took lots of notes. But it had obvious advantages in automatic calculations, ability to change something and have the results ripple through the return, import data from (some) financial institutions, etc. There are still times when it is hard to figure out "where they got that number," but overall it has been a great help and stress-reducer when trying to make one's way through our horribly complicated tax code (like AMT). I have a small business, and Premier helps with that. Overall a good product, IMO. Wish they wouldn't charge extra to e-file a single state return however.
What's great about it: flexible, good help screens, robust (never crashes)
What's not so great: takes getting used to

Turbo Tax

What's great about it: I like to use the ability to work where I chose too and put in my w-2 and 1099 as they come in the mail.
What's not so great: There is a error on the deduction side when calculating the the money to take out at 70 1/2.

Ups and Downs of Filing Turbo Tax

One of the best ways of filing your tax. The step by step method practically guarantees you will not make a mistake.
Have filed several years with Turbo Tax without incident except for 2014 as Turbo Tax made changes that made my Mac unacceptable to run the program. However, with the help of Turbo Tax support and getting my Mac upgraded, I made the filing on time. Not a good idea to wait until April to file. Too much stress when things go wrong or your unprepared for a crisis.

Got the taxes all done and went thru the reviews and printed our return and a couple days later realized it never asked for our email or contact information when we e-filed. reopened it and it said we hadn't e-filed. That was pretty annoying.
What's great about it: Pretty simple to operate
What's not so great: doesn't tell you when you're really done
