on April 12, 2016

after having paid for an expensive version and not wanting to surprise give us 30.00 bucks to email your state return there was no indication as to how to proceed if i did not bite on it. my long term relationship with you folks is starting to sour
What's great about it: we are elderly- have retirement funds deluxe covers us except any non ira inv.
What's not so great: need to buy more expensive version- when I went to e file my fed it herded me to file my state with it at 30.00 extra

like it but needs to sync views
on April 12, 2016
Posted by: lodierno
I like Turbo tax and have been using it for 12 years but always wish you would put a sync button on each view. when you go between step by step and forms views sometimes the information does not transfer to the forms and sometimes the information is doubled which in both cases is extremely dangerous for an accurate tax return.. Could you please develop a sync option so both views would sync and be exactly the same. then I would love you beyond belief.
What's great about it: accurate math
What's not so great: problems moving between Views
Pros: I bought or sold investments

What's not so great: I would like to be able to print any page I see on the screen while I am going through the taxes.

Good value
on April 12, 2016

Having used Turbo Tax for a number of years now, I continue to be pleased with the effectiveness of their product. Some of my friends continue to go to tax preparers, but humans forget things and often times my friends don't come away with the benefits that I do. As the tax laws change, as we age, as our personal finances change, it's much easier to let Turbo tax handle these issues than to struggle with someone who may not be quite up to speed with respect to what is or is not relevant right now!
What's great about it: I appreciate the thoroughness of Turbo Tax.
What's not so great: None, really.

Two little suggestions
on April 12, 2016
Posted by: AntonPG
It would se3em to me that the long screens should "remember" where one was so it would not be necessary to scroll down every time. Bigger issue - when paying by credit card, the E mail address for the code is NOT the one just entered, but the one on file, which can / may be an old one. Please consider fixing this or at least giving a choice.
What's great about it: All but the two things
What's not so great: Having to scrool down everytime. E mail address shortcoming
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Good program gone BAD
on April 12, 2016
Posted by: Chasman366
I've watched this program deteriorate since its inception. It used to be a very user friendly way to complete your taxes. Today it is so over burdened with endless worksheets that just run you in circles with no logic to any of it. Help is totally worthless. I mean totally worthless. No over-ride capabilities. Data input sequence is so inefficient it takes hours, what should take seconds. I used to really like this program and now I must say I'm done with it. Long time customer gone for good. BTW...I'm a CPA and have practiced in the profession for 34 years.
What's great about it: Absolutely NONE
What's not so great: Cumbersome, almost unusable if you are a professional.

Smooth and Efficient

I have used Turbo Tax for over 10 years and never have had a problem. This year I used the Deluxe version, but probably should have used the Premier version.
What's great about it: Orderly flow of input data
What's not so great: Need to see more of the state input process

TurboTax Deluxe 2015
on April 12, 2016
Posted by: RHMike
I have used TurboTax for over 10 years, finding it the easiest way to handle my tax filings. This years program continues the ease of use.
I found only a couple of problems this time.
The first is that the import from Quicken did not work. I could not find a separate Import from Quicken in the Step-by step as in prior versions. I followed the instructions, but the import did not occur. This was a major time problem as I had to go to Quicken to make tax reports and then input the information myself.
My second complaint is that in the Step-by step, TurboTax does not open the current tax file at the last part visited. This should be an automatic item as it would be a time saver. I could not find any settings for this.
I wonder how the pending sale of Quicken will affect the integration with TurboTax.
What's great about it: Easy to follow steps, excellent help features,
What's not so great: Quicken import did not work.Return to last step not available
