Unable to E-file

I had some seller financed interest reported but did not have the payees EIN or SSN. Consequently your software would not let it E-file without it.
Had to submit by paper.....34 sheets. Don't know way as several accountants were able to do it electronically without an EIN.
This is the first time and it is such a pain to do this way.
Your "Find" section would not provide an answer.
Please respond if you have a fix so I will be inclined to use Turbo Tax next year.

Turbo tax is worth it

I like using turbo tax as it steps you through or you can go to the exact form you wish to use. However, there are spots where you are caught on a page and cannot go around it in any way unless you use the file cards on the top. Also, I think it charged me several times for an audit review which I will verify and send to them.
All in all a good product and worth the money for basic and deluxe except for not covering 1 efile for the state.
What's great about it: Easy to use and follow
What's not so great: Areas where the ease of use is lost. Had to pay to efile the state return.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

good, but big software error

if you have Long Term Care contract, IRS may flag the omission of required zero, line 21 of 1040, generated by form 8853. this happened to me 2 yrs ago!
What's great about it: easy for most filers
What's not so great: software error for form 8853: omits transferring "0" to line 21 of 1040.

I have used TurboTax for many years, don't like the price increase each year but it is an easy way to file.
What's great about it: using Turbotax each year makes it easier and easier
What's not so great: lot of paperwork to keep

What's great about it: Walks you through everything, easy to use, lets you skip areas you don't need.

In the overall, we were very pleased. It only took a few hours in total and it was really quite intuitive.
What's great about it: It goes quickly and appears thorough and accurate.
What's not so great: None really.
