Generally great. Had issues w/ printing the completed forms. Got a ton of empty forms even though the print preview showed all the proper information. What a waste of paper.
Also, some quirk happened while completing data for e-filing and lost the whole returns' data. Had to start all over again..
Tried to contract TurboTax for technical assistance and couldn't find the necessary information.
This is the first time in years of using TurboTax that I have encountered such problems. Been very happy for years....
What's great about it: Very helpful. Provides information needed as forms are completed for filing
What's not so great: Needs more check and balances. Entered Fed taxes in State box and never stated the amount was way off. Printed lacking
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

We have used TurboTax for many years, and find it uncomplicated and straightforward. As continuing users, we find the automatic insertion of last years data both a timesaver and a valuable prompt. One negative feature we find annoying and a trifle scary is that questions relative to IRAs blank out when one runs a check and have to be reentered each time..
What's great about it: Simplle, understandable
What's not so great: Some data disappears when you review and has to be reentered

There are so many things that I like about this program for completing taxes each year. The steps are straightforward, logical and easy to understand. This year, I had to use it to complete a deceased family member's taxes and was pleased to get prompts in the system that recognized the loss of a family member. This is a nice personal touch. But, please, TurboTax, update how you recognize the spouse in a couple who is filing jointly. For example, when taxes are completed, the first person listed on the tax return is acknowledged only "Great news, (insert name of first person on return), your tax return was accepted by the IRS". I'm sure that many folks are in the situation where the spouse of the primary listed does the taxes. And, even if the primary listed does the taxes, the return is also the spouse's. It would be so easy to include the spouse in these communications. This sounds like a small thing to write a review about, but after hours of working on taxes, I found it hilarious that the program can't even recognize a spouse's name on communications relating to the return. This extra step of equity would be an easy thing for programmers to fix.
What's great about it: easy to use, good descriptions
What's not so great: improve personalizations

TurboTax Forever!

We have been using TurboTax since it came on a stack of floppies and the output was a dot matrix printer. I believe the OS was Win 3.1. Wouldn't dream of using anything else - we have so much to import from year to year.
By the way, the following questions don't allow for being old (80), or widowed.
What's great about it: ease of use
What's not so great: no big ones in 20 years.

Solid Tax Prep Software

Deluxe version covers all my needs including ability to download most investment information without having to do manual entry.
AMT, when I pay it, is a very complicated process regardless of which TurboTax version used. Turbotax did not improve much on the process other than to determine for me when I owe this tax. Fortunately my trigger was a large state tax deduction which ended with my moving to a no income tax state last year.
Overall I would say Turbotax is the best tax product on the market, at least for my reporting needs.
What's great about it: History retention, most explanations, lookup tool, non-cash deduction suppport
What's not so great: State E-File fee! Way too expensive to use.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved
