Ive been using Turbotax for years. Worked for me every time.
What's great about it: very easy to use
What's not so great: a bit confusing at the end when I had to upgrade before I could file. The upgrade process wasn't well explained.

I found TurboTax to be very easy, intuitive and user friendly. I especially like the ability to automatically transfer data from the prior year's return which saves a tremendous amount of time and precludes errors and omissions. I have been using the program for over 10 years and it seems to just keep getting better and better each year! I couldn't do my taxes without it!!
What's great about it: User friendly, detailed calculations and great pop-up explanations when needed!
What's not so great: None
Pros: I moved

When I forgot to fill in the date acquired, the program did not alert me and instead automatically identified the sale as short term. Had I not realized this, it would have cost me several thousands of dollars.
What's great about it: Every year it gets easier
What's not so great: When I was reporting sales of capital assets with box E checked, I forgot date acquired. The program did not warm me.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Far too cumbersome.

Difficult to navigate. The user has to guess where to input many items. The option to allow the program to 'walk you through' a section and show all items within that section to the user is of little use. If the user is not aware of the location of many necessary inputs, and selects the 'I'll pick my own..." option, the application provides much more in-depth information. It is far more thorough than the default option that promises to walk the user through everything. Please use a focus group of people who have never used your products to evaluate each one independently of those who create the products. Focus on the end-user - your customer.
What's great about it: Ultimately it returned accurate results.
What's not so great: Not very user-friendly.

Dual State Spouses

So I live and work in CO, my wife lives and works in NJ. To avoid paying NJ income tax on the money I made in CO. We have to file MFS in NJ but MFJ on the Federal and CO (CO requires you to use the same status, NJ allows you to split). Basically, this requires multiple returns to be created in TurboTax. I would be nice if it were possible to have the computations done in one file.
What's great about it: Does what it's supposed to do
What's not so great: Sometimes a little clunky
