Peace of Mind

It worked great for me. Very likely I do not have a very complex return but the software seemed well written. I was able to proceed through the step by step process and was finished before I planned. I always take my finished return to my CPA who looks it over for "anything else" and he signed off in 15 minutes. He also answered questions I had about tax planning for 2016, useful. The one specific irritant that perhaps is operator error is going back into the STATE return after first pass to add something or check something. It forces me to go through the whole STATE return rather than pick out a unique area like with the federal return. A bit frustrating...
What's great about it: It left few questions in the process
What's not so great: Always looking for the estimated tax page again this year
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I love all your features, but ALWAYS have trouble e-filing because I cannot provide K-1 info on an investment I sold many years ago. You could solve this problem by including the question "Do you still own this Investment?"TN
What's great about it: I love TurboTax. Used it for years.
What's not so great: Requirements for K-1 info for investments disposed of years ago.

Unanswered Questions

I choose for many reasons to not efile but mail my return with payment. There is no direction given in the package about what to include, if anything with the printed tax forms. At the help center when asked what support documents to mail with the return, the only answers pertained to the Efile process.
What's great about it: Easy and quick.
What's not so great: Left me dangling when it came time to mail the return.

Turbo Tax Good references

All went OK, I can put in the references I want for the future, or not.
I do not like the "Convenience fee"! It doesn't make too much sense to be a percent of my debt or refund. It seems like process would be the same regardless of the amount.

This is a hidden fee!! It should be disclosed at the time of purchase. of the software.
What's great about it: When unclear entries a reference explination clarifies the term.
What's not so great: Don't like the "Convenience fee"

Last year intuit made some customer service mistakes (NOT TAX RETURN mistakes) by not adequately communicating the changes in their product lines. This year, however, I knew what I was getting.
Preparing this year's return went like clockwork and was exactly what I have come to expect from TurboTax; thorough and accurate.

I would like to be returned to where I left off on large menus.
What's great about it: I've used Turbo Tax for YEARS.
What's not so great: don't like having to move down to "Continue" or mark "Done."
