Wanted the audit protection But after a marathon session doing tax (that was great) i gave up on audit protect because just using a credit card took so many turns. But i forgive you because you guys do such a good job of unraveling the US IRS tax code/forms Thanks, you've earned every star!

Too slow and imprecise

The math help is good, but the charge for filing one state return was unexpected and by that time it's too late to go through all you need to do to file. The company has you over the barrel. Also, still too confusing. After all this time to perfect it, they still haven't . Also, seemingly too slow.
What's great about it: Does the math
What's not so great: Too slow and doesn't answer all your questions about what forms are being submitted and why

I have used TurboTax for years and can not think of an easier method. Cost in negligible compared to anyone filing for you.

I have use Turbo Tax for at least 15 years and have always had good luck and help for any questions that came up.
What's great about it: Advice on applying for installment plan was great

There is a Human There!

I like this program and am generally very pleased with it. This year, however, I desperately needed to talk to a real person and she solved my problem with a great deal of patience. This is the first year in the many years I have used TurboTax that I have been unable to print from home and had to go to the local library to print. Since I am in my mid-eighties that is not a desirable portion of the tax preparation. Until I was able to talk to a real person I had about decided not to use TurboTax in the future and am pleased, now, with the outcome and will use the program in the future.
What's great about it: Explanations are very helpful
What's not so great: Not being able to print from my own printer

Easy Peezy

Had to start over after I flubbed the recording of K-1 business income my wife received from another state. I'm still not quite sure what I did wrong but, it is fixed now. In the process, I did discover that I could name the saved file anything I wanted to instead of the long name they suggest. This way I could save with and without the K-1 to see how my wife's k-1 income caused me to have to pay more taxes. I showed her both returns (.pdf files) and convinced her to pay her fair share of the taxes. THAT'S when she told me she already made tax payments to the other state. T_Tax saved the day.
What's great about it: Feels like they are holding you by the hand.
What's not so great: Went down the wrong path filing a k-1 form.
