It is a wonder to me that other people still use accountants and other filing/preparation organizations.
All you have to do is load throughout the year the pertinent information such as tax receipts,and w-2 forms into a folder. Just make sure you find it and can read what is in it. Start up Turbo tax, load the information in and file electronically. The ease of doing year after year on TurboTax makes it easier. The program loads the previous year's data.
What's great about it: Step by step on every issue
What's not so great: None that I can think of

Just a good, thorough handling of all tax data required. Once you've gathered all the information you need for filing, getting it into TurboTax™ and on to the IRS/State is really straightforward.

I used the deluxe edition, which I'm glad to see, fixed last year's mistake of making you buy the premier edition to handle a rental property.
What's great about it: Logical step by step handling of all tax data
What's not so great: General complexity of tax filing, but that's not your fault.

TurboTax 2015 could not find my 2014 return information. Even though I have been using TurboTax for 10 years and all is on my computer. The 2014 product was downloaded, not from CD format. Last time I will download from TurboTax, will buy at the store instead.
What's not so great: could not find my 2014 turbotax information, so had to retype everything

What's great about it: Straight forward; can get help or move on at your owne pace.
What's not so great: Not sure about filing on line when you owe the IRS money. How do they reconcile filing?
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Auto file transfer from last years returns and online employer W-2 transfers are the best. I have been using TurboTax for many years and I believe most people can do their own tax with TurboTax without any problems.
What's great about it: Love the automatic file transfers!
