Makes a ridiculously complex government process of taking my money somewhat palatable.
What's great about it: Step by step process is understandable and avoids errors

Routine Complexity

I have used this product for at least 10 years (maybe as long as product). Always like ability to download detailed documents and avoid manual input. Like ability to download last years results and I like the comparison. This year had a problem with MMC and all forms were not in hand. Ran into blank lines and obscure directions for Simplified method for 1099-RC. Help and comments/blog was ultimately helpful.
What's great about it: Provides many options; love transfer year to year data
What's not so great: Dislike the jargon, acronyms, and occasional dead end solutions
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Make sure you read the fine print, TWICE! Twice is what you will pay for using turbo tax.

Makes tax filing much easier

Program is simple & easy to use. It provides good topic information as you go through the different tax topics. The guided sections is great if you need that, but the option to look at the topics you want is great for those that already know what they need to enter.
I use ItsDeductible throughout the year to record my donations to charity so I literally just import that to Turbo Tax; Saves so much time!
The importing of previous tax year returns is a great option and saves you time. However, I was unable to use that option due to problems with the encryption password from previous year returns. Although, I knew my password, I could not open or import my previous year returns. Thus, this year I decided not to use the encryption password.
Otherwise, I love Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Easy to use, good topic info
What's not so great: Encryption password did not work well and locked out previous tax year files

AWESOME SOFTWARE!

Turbo Tax software cannot be outscored in terms of usability, technical support and ease of use. I have done my taxes with this software for the past 20 years. However, it wasn't until I had to use a rival software (in another scenario) that I could really appreciate TurboTax. I don't have to know ANYTHING about how the forms in the background are being filled out. I respond to the questions and TurboTax does all the thinking and the work. This is a great product, and I highly recommend it!!

No stressing

I stress every year before doing our taxes, but Turbo tax makes it so easy that I wonder why I stressed in the first place! It is a very user friendly program and I highly recommend it.
What's great about it: easy to use with helpful tips along the way.

TurboTax missed a deduction

My brokerage is the only income statement that I can load electronically. It showed a short term loss. During a final review, my wife asked where my loss on a bad stock pick was. When I went to the Form for gains and losses, it did not show up, nor was it anywhere else. I clicked on a box where gains and losses should show up, and the info for the loss showed up on the linked form. When I closed that linked form, the loss showed up.
After that, I went back and scrutinized all other info I had put in manually, which bugged me to have to do.
What's great about it: Not many changes in TurboTax since last year
What's not so great: Missed deduction from an electronically-loaded brokerage statement
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Easy Peasy

The directions said to drop the program into my Applications folder when it should have said drop the program into the "Turbo Tax" icon on my desktop. I called Turbo Tax Mac support and the customer service rep could not figure it out as to why the program was not opening in my Applications folder. I had a friend with lots of computer experience come over and he said that the directions were misleading and it took him some time to figure it out. Once he figured it out, the rest of my experience was smooth.
What's great about it: Wow! Turbo Tax was easy to navigate from start to finish!
What's not so great: Difficulty loading the Turbo Tax program for the first time.
