Average - it seems like Turbo-Tax is getting harder. I couldn't log into my account.
What's great about it: Pulls forms from previous year.
What's not so great: You don't know where you are in the process. It's hard to go back to make changes and find where forms apply.

2015 TurboTax Deluxe

previous versions remembered when sub-sections within a section had been completed ... this version jumped back to top of section requiring navigation down screen to reach next section being addressed -- irritating situation.
What's great about it: easy to use, fast navigation
What's not so great: jumps back to top of section rather than remembering where last item was completed requiring page down to reach next loc

Botched state return

After the fed and state reviews and telling me all is ok, I went ahead with e-filing. Then just before transmission TT tells me there's an error in my W2's SDI entry which is over the limit! Yes, the idiot employer should have caught this but why didn't TT catch it during its checks?! It wouldn't let me do anything except loop through the process again and again until I falsified the state entry and of course raised my federal taxes due.
What's great about it: Choose items myself
What's not so great: Confuses itself

Turbo Tax Newbie

I will do this again next year. I was very nervous about filing my own taxes for the first time. My dad always did it for me and he passed away in 2014. After going to a tax preparation person last year and watching how easy it looked, I decided to give it a shot. I appreciate how easy the program was to follow and enjoyed the encouraging comments throughout the process. It almost made me feel that I'd missed my calling to be an accountant...almost! Thank you for providing a great experience to someone who had know idea what they were doing at first.
What's great about it: Very, very easy format to follow.
What's not so great: Sometimes, you have a question and may need help. Easier when their is a live person to talk to about it.

Pretty good - download version hard to locate

Turbo tax works well, and is a good value. the download version is really hard to find on their website, which is unfortunate because I still prefer it over the online version, due to slow internet connection, and it's a better value if you also file state taxes (and, who doesn't?). The online help community is pretty much worthless though, if you do run into questions. The last person I want answering my tax questions is another person with similar knowledge level to me - I'd hardly consider myself an expert.
What's great about it: easy
What's not so great: help community

Detailed complaints (mostly shortcomings) will be supplied later when I file MY tax return - this was my Sister's simple tax return.
What's great about it: Very easy, for simple returns like this one (my sisters)
What's not so great: STANDARD COMPLAINT: TurboTax LACKS ability to print TurboTax Screens (A VERY SERIOUS SHORTCOMING!)
