Why the tax firms?

I am actually an accountant and dont see why people pay tax guys that set up shop in storefronts or grocery stores. They use programs also. This is easy to understand. Take a sip of water, give yourself some time, and it will walk you through the process.
What's great about it: Covers almost everything for almost all people
What's not so great: Too much info, can be a daunting experience first time you use it.

Another Outstanding Program!!

I just hope that I understood the directions as I interpreted them!! That is the $64 dollar question! Doing taxes is a pain but necessary "end of year" experience that we all must suffer! Turbo-Tax makes it so much easier and (I hope) correct! Thanks for another year of less hassle!
What's great about it: Still the great progam as it has been through the years!
What's not so great: Some confusin in the area of inherited funds.

I've used TT more than 10 yrs. I love the ease of use. I have confidence that all required forms (even the obscure ones) are correctly filed.

Very difficult to find where to enter non-taxable Veteran's compensation amount for State sales tax credit. Still not sure it was accounted for.
What's great about it: Easy neat and clean.
What's not so great: Problem in one specific area.

No Surprises - ever!!

Depending on our family's years finance activities, I have annually picked the best version for us.
I used Turbo Tax when I was working with continual travel and business expenses, when my wife had a small business, plus the buying and selling of houses when we moved.
Been retired for years now, and thru it all, never a problem, never an audit.
Have had accountants and specialists do our taxes, with TT as a "second opinion".
Turbo Tax has consistently been been the best for us.
I used Turbo Tax when I was working with continual travel and business expenses, when my wife had a small business, plus the buying and selling of houses when we moved.

Overall good but offering of other services or to get you to upgrade along the way are annoying - too many of them.
What's great about it: Takes you step by step through income and expenses
What's not so great: Tries to often to get you to buy another service
