PROBABLY WOULD HAVE HAD TO GO TO A TAX PAPERER WITHOUT THIS SOFTWARE. HAVE USED IT FOR YEARS. GREAT SOFTWARE!!!!!

Longtime Deluxe User

I've used Deluxe edition for at least 7-8 years and found it to be easy to use and not overly complicated. I follow the directions and let it walk me through the various sections. If your tax papers are all organized it makes it easier. I had one question about medical expenses this year and it referred me to IRS Publication 502 for the answer. Generally, most questions can be answered by it's online answering system or FAQ pages. Try it if you pay someone to do what you think you could do yourself.
What's great about it: Finds most deductions that average homeowners would need.
What's not so great: Doing taxes isn't fun but this beats filling out forms!

What's not so great: Program would not update this or that or anything.

Easy as can be

I've used TurboTax for years. Because I'm retired, and my income doesn't change very much from year to year, it's easy to see that TurboTax is asking all the right questions, and doesn't dwell on situations that don't apply to you.
If you are requesting a third party to intercede for you with the IRS, (after line 79, form 1040) the program doesn't ask you this simple question. You need to switch to "forms view" to complete this step. Something the program should have picked up on.
Otherwise, great program, and certainly cheaper than a paid preparer.

What's not so great: Sometimes generates a few too many "for your records" forms

Deluxe Purchase

I am hoping you will continue offering your Deluxe version next year. I was told I would have to bump up to the next higher priced version from one of your retailers. If this is the case for 2016, I will be converting to another tax software service.I've used your Deluxe version for over 10 years. I'm hoping to continue but it's totally up to you.

Turbo Tax Continues to Impress

This year I had a couple of problems with Turbo Tax. I called the support number twice and was very impressed with the people and their tenacity in getting the problems solved. One was fairly easy (for her), the other took quite a bit of doing, but she never gave up and was very professional. Overall I think the normal things go very well, while the less common things are not as well designed for help. Some of the worksheets that the program uses are hard to locate when looking for the basis of a number.
In general I am satisfied and intend to continue using Turbo Tax.

I'll be using again next year for the 4th time.

This my 3rd year using TurboTax and plan to use it again nest year. Very easy to follow and intuitive. Donation data entry is the most time consuming part but necessary if you do a lot of personal item donations.
What's great about it: Very user friendly and intuitive.
