Hawaii state tax would not let me delete the 4 other excise tax listings that I entered by mistake so I had to use the same ID number 5 times and write in "delete" on 4 of them to get the message across that my husband has only one number for his one SAT testing job.
Everything else seems to work fine. I like the prompts. It's user friendly.
What's great about it: It took only one day and I've already filed. I like the "error" checker so one does not leave out details.
What's not so great: Doing taxes is just too long. There's a lot of other things one should be doing with ones time, like exercising.

Easy. Took me way shorter than I thought

Turbo Tax has been my go to for years. I feel this years version was even better than previous ones. Not sure what changes were make, but things went by extremely quick. I filed my taxes while watching a movie and finished in under 1 & a half hours. I probably could have finished unders an hours if Turbo Tax had my full attention.
What's great about it: Easy. Painless..
What's not so great: e-filing is pretty expensive

Best Tax Software!

This past year is the first time I've had to make quarterly estimated payments above and beyond what was withheld by my employer and retirement fund administrator. Only problem I ran into this year was understanding where to enter the information in the "other tax credits" section of the deductions portion of the walk-through. At first I entered it under "tax withholding not included on your W-2", but when I noticed (upon review of the forms) that this amount was not on the correct line of the 1040 (line 65), I had to manually enter it on that line and deduct the amount from line 64. I finally figured out it was likely meant to be entered under the line in the walk-through that is labeled something like "payments for returns from previous years back to 2013", which didn't really make sense. It would be helpful if it could be clarified in future editions by stating something like "quarterly (or estimated) tax payments made to IRS for (tax year)..." Good thing I caught the error. Once I made the correction, it significantly impacted the amounts for my 1040 ES Payment Vouchers for the coming year. Otherwise I would have underpaid for next year and would be facing a penalty.
What's great about it: Love Turbo Tax. Used it for nearly 10 years now
What's not so great: Need to clarify where to enter Estimated Payments
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Simple and helpful apps

What's great about it: Very easy and very helpful. Most of regular Joe can use this apps.
What's not so great: None

If you sort your records before starting, it's easy to go through each section.
What's great about it: Step by step walks you through as you pull your records together.
What's not so great: Can't always flag your stopping point for easy resumption of info entry.

Love the Backup!

The clear instructions and the ease of following the yellow brick road made last week entries a breeze....and my typo in an EIN that got my submission rejected was easy to correct after I was promptly notified.
With my husband's passing two years ago, TurboTax has made filing taxes so simple!
What's great about it: Having last'year's info available to set-up this year's is a great start.
What's not so great: Can't think of any...
