Very organized

Have used TurboTax for 20+ years. I like how well it's organized and that its functionality is updated every year. Import from prior year and from payroll/investment firms saves a ton of tedious data entry and time. Calculating the most tax advantageous options also saves you time and money. My only complaint is that the extremely technical points in the tax law and forms are not always evident in the software. TurboTax doesn't always tell you when another answer, option or "checked box" is affecting a certain area of the return. The user almost has to "sense" when the answer isn't correct. This requires using the online help to dig further into the topic to research the correct approach with the forms and calculations. However, I have always found my answer in the online help feature. This just further illustrates how excessively complex our tax code has become!
What's great about it: Keeps all the tax topics in a very organized manner; picks up where you left off; easy to flip between forms and steps.
What's not so great: Very technical tax matters are buried in the process and forms. Doesn't always prompt you to look them up.

Very easy, Used for years

I've used this program for many years and do not understand why anyone would pay a tax service to do their taxes. Why you would go thru the hassle to supply a taxservice everything that you can enter yourself, I have no clue. Turbo Tax has served me well thru numerous moves, life challenges, kids college, and difficult times.
What's great about it: Ease of use, Deduction tools

Painless Refund

This was my first time using Turbo Tax and I found the process wuite painless. The directions and help sections were very clear.
What's great about it: Easy step-by-step directions.
What's not so great: Sometimes the tabs were hard to follow.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

For ex-pat Americans living in Canada, the 8938 and Foreign Tax credit forms and step-by-step are difficult to complete. Please simplify. Also, it would be nice if there was an interface that allowed importation of my Canadian TurboTax return - life would be greatly simplified.

I have been using TurboTax for over ten years now. We had some major life changes this year and thought we would have to hire a professional to do our taxes. Nope, TurboTax was all I needed. Everything was spelled out easily.

What's great about it: Easy and thorough...exports last year's data to present
What's not so great: As a loyal customer, would like a coupon for next year's software.

Fantastic way to make Filing stress free

This is the 10th year we've used TurboTax, and each year it gets easier and faster to use. The menus are simple and clear, making it easy to figure out what to do and what to enter.
The HELP features and search features are clear and concise, which makes finding and getting to needed forms and information so much easier to do.
