I find if I give myself a month to do the taxes from start to finish it gives me time to look on it when I'm feeling my best.
What's great about it: walking me through each phase
What's not so great: I never like paying taxes

Easy As Falling Off A Log

I am a dedicated turbo tax user and have used the software since 2008. I appreciate the way I'm led through the completion of both federal and state returns making a heretofore arduous task much less painful.
What's great about it: Very simple and straight forward process with the ability to e-file
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

It gets a little easier each year.
Now that I've retired and live full time in an RV (no brick and mortar house), I'd like to see attention paid to declaring your re as your house, handling sales tax and the cost of license and inspection, using the loan payments as mortgage payments,
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Just follow the guides set up and doing your taxes are very easy. I have been doing it myself for over 8 years now
What's great about it: Super easy to use...
What's not so great: Have to pay to E-file state with deluxe edition
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Printing pain
on April 10, 2016

I have been using Turbo Tax Deluxe for ten or more years. Each year another wrinkle is thrown into the program. The older you get, the less surprises you want. I enjoy using your software even though I rarely get a refund, but I do not trust others getting in my business. I couldn't believe you were going to charge me to pay my taxes by credit card and still have to pay for my state to be filed. This is not the least expensive software to use for taxes, but is a good product.
What's great about it: Still fairly simple to use
What's not so great: Difficult to print andnot enough info on inherited IRA.

1040
on April 10, 2016

Questions don't tie directly to the 1040. I would prefer a 1040 based question process.
It was difficult to deal with 1099-D for a consolidated return for a jount return because the total had to be obrained before enter dividend numbers.
The foreign tax 1166 area is a diseaster. For dividend related entries it should be easy to escape all of the dialog.
I am a volunteer preparer for AARP Tax-aide and much prefer the Taxwise software.
What's great about it: Good summaries
What's not so great: To much detail in various areas
