Takes the stress out of tax time!

I like how TurboTax builds in lots of shortcuts to save time and energy. It uploads information from my W2 and other tax forms. It walks you through each decision and the little information links are helpful if you get stuck or have questions. I'm always stressed during tax filing season, but once I've collected my documents and made a short summary, TurboTax makes quick work of preparing the forms and getting me through to filing. I always seem to get a bigger refund, too! I used to prepare my own forms, but after using TurboTax for the last 3 years I'll never go back.
What's great about it: Pre-populates the form with my W2 information. Questions that make it easy to get through each section of the tax forms.

I've used Turbo Tax for a number of years now, and I feel very comfortable with it, and confident in the results.
What's great about it: Very user friendly! It kept a running total of my refund on each page.
What's not so great: Nothing.

Painful

After having my account hacked and my info stolen last year from TurboTax I decided to give it another try. I know I'm either crazy or stupid. I was almost done with Federal and saved and came back. It started over at the beginning wanting me to completely start from scratch without importing. No Way. I restarted and all went smooth from there until I needed to reset my its deductible password. After providing my secure info like bdate and ss# to the official Intuit site it said it would sent the password reset email to some dot biz location that is definitely not me. Probably whoever hacked us last year. Not feeling very confident about Intuit right now.
What's great about it: Lots of great info
What's not so great: Could not retrieve saved info and had to start over

I have used Turbo Tax for many years and never had an audit and have never had my returns questioned. Very thorough and accurate. Highly recommend!
What's great about it: Turbo Tax always finds deductions that I may not think of

TurboTax: Except No Substitutes

I have used TT for over 9 years and each year it continues to improve. I will never have someone prepare my taxes so long as there is TurboTax because I will do it myself and be the household finance hero!
The explanations and examples for every subject area is an invaluable tool to ensure that you fully understand what you are doing. This software takes the confusion and intimidation out of doing your taxes.
The way the software reads previous TT returns is also very smart and helpful as it reduces the amount of time that is spent entering redundant data that has not changed from one year to the next.
Amazing product. No problems and no worries.

Disappointed

My first attempt - last years info would not transfer so I had to complete everything again. After I filled my return I was going to purchase another state return when I found out none of my return had been saved. I was told others with macs had the same problem and someone was working on it. To do the 2nd state return I had to reenter all of my federal information a 2nd time. Since I had already filled my federal return earlier in the week I did not want to efile again. I was then unable to efile my 2nd state return since the program did not show I had efiled my federal return. I will now have to send it in by mail.
Usually I am very happy with Turbotax. I have used it for years. This year I have waisted many hours trying to complete my taxes. I purchase this program to save time.
What's great about it: Personnel friendly and helpful
What's not so great: I had to wait over an hour for assistance. Software not functioning correctly
