Easy filing!

This is the first time I have filed taxes as a homeowner and Turbo Tax made it easy
What's great about it: easy to follow step by step walk through
What's not so great: sometimes it's difficult to correct errors
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Best choice ever

Deciding to use Turbotax years ago was the best idea ever, and it gets even better year after year! Having the instant comparison to last year's return is very useful! I did my Federal and State in under an hour!

Turbo Tax Program

I wasnt happy with this years program, had to re-start it so many times it made me angry. I didn't have this problem last year.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Had to be re-started many, many times to get through the program
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Reliable, Thorough, with minor glitches

I use TurboTax Deluxe (to get my state taxes included). There are minor user-interface glitches: The state program doesn't remember bank account information from the federal portion. Navigating through the questions always requires scrolling down to find the "continue" button, even when there is plenty of space on the screen to put it where it could be easily reached. This year's edition seemed to have some problems remembering where I left off in certain cases of saving and coming back later. At times it remembered exactly; at other times it went all the way back to a major section. Temporarily switching to forms view could sometimes also result in having to re-navigate previously answered questions.
The good thing is how it finds last year's files and pulls pertinent information out so that it does not have to be re-entered. Related to that, I really appreciate being able to compare last year with this year to understand why there are differences - "Why did I have to pay more?" can easily be seen from a comparison of deductions and withholding, etc.
Overall, the thorough navigation through complex subjects and the smart access to the previous year makes this product a winner.
What's great about it: It covers everything; carry-over from prev. year is great.
What's not so great: Some user-interface glitches

I really appreciate not having to fool with all the IRS forms (paper I mean). I have been using TurboTax for many years and am greatfull for it even though I am the world's slowest typist.
What's great about it: Went very smoothly. Like how everything transfers from previous year.
What's not so great: Didn't like seperating 4/15/2014 est.payment from the other three.

Love this program!

I filed the easy form but with all the help information available I would feel comfortable filing a more complicated form with Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Once you use Turbo Tax all your information is carried over to the next year. All Federal info is carried to the State
What's not so great: Have to snail mail the State form to not be charged.
