Russ46 Turbo Tax Review

All I had to do was gather my tax related documents and let Turbo Tax walk me through the process. Took me a grand total of 3.5 hours as I had filed all of my tax related documents in on place as I received them. I am not aware of any more simple way to file my taxes
What's great about it: Quick and simple! Gather your data, answer questions and done. What could be simpler.
What's not so great: I can't think of any, it was that easy.

Excellent program; used it for years. Minor critiques:
I wish the defaults would stick better, e.g whether I want to enter information by hand or download it.
The E-File dialog is confusing to me. E.g. the authentication PIN dialog offers last year's AGI but seems to need a PIN anyway, then after a PIN is obtained shows a screen with another PIN. Then the additional authentication needed, though appropriate, is a surprise, e.g. driver's license etc.
The printout dialog leaves one hanging. When I select to print the return, I don't necessarily need a print preview, other than the usual computer print dialog, and I'd expect it to return to the main program.

Great Job, Turbo Tax!

We have used Turbo Tax for many years. Last year we tried the H& R Block program, but it just wasn't the same, maybe a few dollars cheaper. We really like the Turbo Tax program. We feel totally confident that our tax return was done expertly and completely!
What's great about it: This program is so easy to use. It walks you through every step. It took no time at all to do our taxes.
What's not so great: None.

We have used Turbo Tax for many years and have never had any issues with it. The program is easy to use and it walks you through each step, offering explanations along the way if you need them. It also shows your refund/taxes owed as you go along so there are no surprises.
What's great about it: Walked through each deduction and offered explainations.

Done Again... thank the gods !

This is the 14 th year I have used Turbo Tax. I appreciate the ease of use starting with the transferring of last years information right through to the e-filing process. Turbo Tax has made the entire experience, well... not pleasant, but I only need eat a few antacid tables as opposed to the ulcerous stress of filling out the forms myself.
Although it can still take a few hours to finish a complex return, I am happy that it can be done in a single sitting.
All in all, the only way I can think of to get them done easier for as little money, is to change the way we all have to file...

What's great about it: Speed, convenience and attention to details
What's not so great: State filing fees are a bit much if you have multiple states
