Still the best way!

Once again you made this process very cut and dry for those of us who still can do our own taxes. Turbotax carefully brings you step by step through all the potential ways you may need to include earned income; but then makes sure you get every deduction you are entitled to. Many times you may have missed some of these things. Make sure you let TT guide you! Don't think you know it all! Thanks again for your excellent product!
What's great about it: Easy and answers all the questions!
What's not so great: Could be tough for some not-techies. But you've made it easier, even for them!

I have been a Turbo Tax user for several years and have always had an easy time doing my taxes. Last year and this year I found myself not sure if the forms were being filled correctly. I constantly went to the forms themselves did find some things I needed to change but could not easily change them. Some of this may have been to the fact that my 2014 taxes did not completely transfer and I had to constantly go to last yrs return to try and figure things out. I had the feeling I needed an actual copy of the tax forms and booklet in front of me. Maybe the way questions were asked I didn't answer them right. I used the Deluxe version and all the forms I needed were there not like last yr. It was just a bigger chore this yr and nothing really had changed in my life.
What's great about it: All the forms were included in the Deluxe version
What's not so great: all of my 2014 return did not transfer to my 2015 return

Better, but still not great

Much better than last year's version. Did;t get jammed up on weird little nuances of the tax code. Still weak with multi-state military situations. Would like to see better IRA calculators and recommendations; weak there.
What's great about it: easy to use, fast
What's not so great: expensive, does not handle military situations very well

I really love this, but am sometimes confused with a form. The help button really works. Two issues will not update automatically and says I have free state but always charges me again when I file
What's great about it: works very quickly and helps walk thru
What's not so great: had to go back to find some forms not offered to me

Tax Fraud Information

The automated Federal Tax walk thru does not query for IRS IP PIN ... This is the second year where I e-filed my return, only to have it rejected for not including the IRS IP PIN.
Frustrating to say the least.
What's great about it: None
What's not so great: Federal IRS IP PIN

An Improved Edition
on April 9, 2016

This version of Turbotax seems to move through the income compilation and deduction identification process more smoothly than earlier editions. The program makes helpful suggestions as you go along, even if you choose to enter data on your own, without using the step-by-step method.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Downloads of updates are slow.

Gets easier

Would be even easier if all data could be imported. Too many, especially Credit Unions, would not import. Also was a bit confused when I e-filed my Fed return, and printed my state. I had to do one, and then start over on doing the other. It could have flowed much better. Why not add a choice to e-file or print or defer to later for each return? Adding print would would have eliminated my confusion.
What's great about it: Easier Every Year
What's not so great: Unable to import data from Credit Unions, Problems splitting filing methods
