All in all taxes went pretty quick and the program does a good job of covering all the bases. We did have some issues with sharing the file across two accounts on the same computer and the program ask us to register every time we loaded it, but those were the only issues.
What's great about it: Got through taxes quick
What's not so great: Repeated requests to register

The one question I had involved IRA income qualification. The software took me to Mint, but never answered my question.
I wanted to know if SSA-1099 income qualifies me for opening an IRA. And, if not, why not, as it is taxable.
I'd still love an answer, and have until next week to open an IRA.
What's great about it: Walked me through everything easily
What's not so great: The one question I had involved IRA income qualification. The software took me to Mint, but never answered my question.

USING TURBOTAX SINCE 2007

LOYAL CUSTOMER OF TURBOTAX HAVE BEEN USING SINCE 2007, BUT TURBOTAX SHOULD PROVIDE FREE ONE STATE ALLOWANCE TO SUBMIT ONLINE.
What's great about it: EASY AND FAST
What's not so great: ONE STATE SHOULD BE INCLUDED
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Business involvement question

An official IRS publication said that if you are not involved in the business with continuity and regularity then you do not need to fill out schedule C. Once in a year receipt of a small book royalty does not involve one in a business. Turbo Tax should have questioned me on this and negated the need for schedule C.
