What's great about it: Tax software has evolved over the year and its GREAT!
What's not so great: when paying or recieving an return amount, Not remembering Banking information between State and Federal returns.

Killin' it!

If you want to prepare your own tax returns (and I'm talking to 95% of you!), there is no better and easier and more straightforward way to do it other than Turbo Tax. You don't need to know anymore!!
What's great about it: Straightforward, much better memory than mine, will not take a shortcut
What's not so great: Constantly updating (or is that really a pro?), navigating sometimes tedious

Life Made Easy

I have used TurboTax for many years and am so happy to know each year at tax time, preparing my taxes will be easy, fast, efficient. I feel confident that the product will ensure I have done my taxes correctly and gotten my full refund or, for years when I need to pay in, that the amount owed is accurate.
What's great about it: So easy to use
What's not so great: Cost to efile state
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

One Thing I Didn't Like About TurboTax This Year

I did not like the fact that this year when Turbo Tax saved my tax return the screen went BLACK and in the upper left hand corner was the message "turbo tax not responding". I found this most disconcerting, especially the first time it happened. I have been using Turbo Tax almost as long as it has been on the market and this is the first version I can recall that saved data this way. I don't like seeing a BLACK screen or the message. I would suggest you change this feature and fire the software writer that suggesting doing it! I expect better of Intuit and Turbo Tax.

Taxes made easy...

Transfer data from previous years is seamless - no need to re-type information already provided and carry over to next year which is great at is serves as reminders for deductions made in previous years. Questions are clear for regular people - you don't need to be an accountant to fill your taxes right...
What's great about it: Organization of sections - answer only what you need

Turbo Tax works

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years and it is always very easy and accurate. They double and triple check everything you enter and tell you when something isn't quite right. I believe that it is money well spent.
What's great about it: Very easy to use
What's not so great: I always have to give the IRS more money....(not Turbo Taxes fault)

Returned to TT in 2015

Returned in 2015 after taxes done last year by a CPA. The step-by-step questions enabled me to walk through all the applicable sections and some areas I had questions about.
Only negative was a little difficulty in finding several functings not in the mainline filing process. One was the "What-If" calculator I use regularly to estimate taxes for the following year in order to adjust withholding rate and, in my case, determine that I should file quarterly estimated taxes (1040-ES). I also had some difficulty getting the estimated tax forms to enter the correct amount each quarter -- the software kept putting the whole amount in the 4th quarter payment! Eventually I had to override all the amounts to get them correct. Another function not quite as straightforward is getting to the "It's Deductible" donation estimator unless you're just at the right place in the software. Maybe there should be specific links or tabs to each of these?
