TurboTax is easy to use. I have used turbo tax for many years and like the easy step by step instructions. I will always use turbo tax.

Staightforward No nonsense approach to taxes

Turbo Tax has been the only tax software I've used for over a decade. The import features and comparisons between current and last year filings, along with added comparisons this year provide insight into the way my taxes have changed, and how I can affect tax liability for next year.
I have always enjoyed the import features and the guidance from "It's Deductible" for assistance on my donations to our local charities.
Intuit's informational contacts keep me informed and shows their interest in continuing to be my preferred tax software provider.
What's great about it: informative notes and references; easy to understand
What's not so great: some seemingly redundant questions; cost for tax preparation as a deduction seemed to be missing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Great Tax program

This was the fourth year I used Turbo Tax. I used to go to a private tax preparer, so I was used to having all my documentation in place. My wife and I file a joint return. She's working and I'm recently retired. I use Turbotax - Deluxe and this covers all my tax related issues. I like being able to e-file my Federal and State returns. It takes me 4 hours to complete, but I don't rush.
What's great about it: Walks you through step by step. Easy if you have all your tax documents organized and ready.
What's not so great: It was only intimidating the first time I used the program.

Great, after I got the right product

Bought the Deluxe online version, which handled payment at end of the return. Although I indicated in my return that I had children with income, I was not informed prior to payment that the online version of TurboTax Deluxe would not allow filing for other family members. I had purchased the physical CD of Deluxe in previous years and assumed the only difference in format was a matter of personal preference/convenience. However, I did receive excellent telephone customer service from Christy, who researched my purchase and kindly helped me get the product I had intended. I WILL stick with TurboTax!
What's great about it: Step-by-step help if desired, previous year comparisons, data import options
What's not so great: "online" version (vs.download) did not clarify that I would have to pay extra to file dependent children's returns.

Stress Free

Can't imagine doing my taxes any other way than Turbo Tax. They cover all areas so I don't have to try to remember deductions, etc. Everything is thoroughly checked. They also make sure all the latest laws are in their software and updated again when you start the program. Makes filing taxes very stress free!
What's great about it: Detailed, explanations for questions very thorough

The federal part is easy to navigate and lets you skip around as you want. do it yourself or let them walk you through it. I found a continuing confusing direction on the state where getting the federal retirement deducted from the state return required a lot of back and forth to figure out what was needed.
