Easier than I expected

I have prepared my own taxes for the past 26 years. Just like life your taxes get more complicated in time. I felt the expense was invaluable to the time I saved. I work in Finance and Accounting, but do not make a living preparing taxes, so this really was a benefit. I am glad I tried it, and I plan to be a loyal customer.
What's great about it: Saves time

Illinois state return continues to be a problem!

Had a huge problem with IL return last year which lasted from October to March (when they settled it). Now, this year's return is already starting off the same way...can't efile and still charged us for IL and IN efiles!!!!!! I will be calling to get a refund on this!
What's great about it: like upload of last year's info
What's not so great: IL numbers never match up when another state is added.

Excellent Process

Excellent overall product and process. Small glitch in mis-naming my pension as general instead of private which had a major effect on taxable income in Michigan.
Another small glitch in the final security check which mails a security code to me but won't let me open another window to sign into my email to retrieve the code. Use of a second computer to get the code solved the issue.
I've used Turbo Tax for decades, and will keep using it.
What's great about it: Clear directions, important comparison with prior years
What's not so great: Final security check glitch.

Quick Easy...but hurts to pay

I enjoyed using this program. I am no longer scared to file my own taxes....except when it comes to paying the state!

Not as easy this year

What's not so great: I became frustrated at times because I did not find it as easy to navigate between fields/pages as in previous years

I would like to know if I could have deducted my pretax contributions to my work 401K- not company matched
