Great tax product, 5th year using. Love that its one fee to buy, no extras for e-filing, etc.

Worked as expected

Overall it is a good product. Have been using it for years. Always plan on doing a little homework and reading IRS files when it comes to special situations and special deductions, so you have a good understanding on what/how calculations work.
What's great about it: Easy navigation using steps
What's not so great: Still needed IRS forms for clarifications
Pros: I bought or sold investments

After putting all the paper work together, it really was easy to just fill in all the blankds.
What's great about it: Just need to plug in the amounts. Values for deductible mercandise a snap.
What's not so great: Still have to get my paper work together on my own.

State Return Sucked in Every Way

Not only did the GA State Form 500 and schedules Step by step instructions not state the actual intent of the questions on actual tax forms, forcing me to enter the state numbers by hand, page by page, question by question, BUT ALSO the Turbo Tax print function is buggy, misprinting both the page formatting and the actual page information, while claiming it cound not find simple Helvetica Fonts (the ones that come with Windows) on my computer, even thought I could download and print the actual forms from the state on the same computer without a single problem. This has been frustrating enough that I will likely use HR Block next year, even though I've used Turbo Tax for the past 20 years or so.
ALSO - even on Federal 1040, there was no provision for changing estimated tax payments due to retirement and thus little taxable income. Turbo Tax would have had me send over $1200 a quarter in estimated taxes, the actual amount using hand entered income estimates was ZERO!
What's great about it: Federal Tax was fine
What's not so great: GA 500 Completely Hosed
