Step by Step Easy

First year of retirement income, lump sum payments, self employment income, long term loses, short term gains all covered with ease and on top of everything a refund. Great product for an unpleasant but necessary task.
What's great about it: easy to use even with complex return
What's not so great: None that I can think of

I do not know why everyone does not use TurboTax. After using it for years, researching various issues that arose each year right at my computer, I am finding I understand the tax system better than most people.
What's great about it: Confidence in accuracy and completeness.
What's not so great: None. Better than every alternative.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Deluxe continues to be simple and complete.

I have used TurboTax Deluxe for many years at home for my individual Federal and State filing. It is simple, accurate and
comprehensive. Just answer questions, stop and save at any point, re-start where you stopped, visit any State or Federal section in your work for review or update. Completes IRS forms as you go which you may review while in TurboTax. Calculates quarterly filing forms to use this year to pay taxes on retirement income. Social Security, pension and annuity income do not have tax withholding so the quarterly payments will avoid the tax shock I got from filing my 2015 1099-R statements.
