This was my first time filing taxes on my own, and this product made things very easy, stress free, and FAST. I expected to spend about twice as much time as I did, and at no point did I consider throwing my computer out the window. The questions phrased well, and there was a little subscript under each one with more detail if you needed it; Or it would tell you if it was okay to leave a question blank. Fantastic first experience filing taxes!
What's great about it: guided you through questions, able to flag and come back to a problem spot if needed

Turbotax Deluxe

When I got to the business portion the step by step stopped and I had to fill everything out manually. Then when I came back later to check my work, the step by step worked here. But once I got through it one time I could not find it again.
I have been using TurboTax for many years and this is the first time I have had any negative issues. You can do better with the business portion in the deluxe version. I don't need the extra features in the other packages.
What's great about it: Works great and saves a lot of time
What's not so great: The Schedule C portion was very difficult to find the step by step

I'm a 72 year-old woman. Turbo makes all aspects of filing as simple as can be. If I had to fill out the return on paper by myself, I'm sure my refund would be much smaller.

Very easy to use

To me it was one of the best versions I have used in years. Maybe my tax requirements have gotten better but I still go through every category anyway. Piece of cake. I'm very pleased. And no I did not receive any compensation for this review.

Getting more complicated

For the first time, one of my dependents was required to file independently due to some modest earned income. Despite instructions to list the SSN of the parent who was listing her as dependent, I found no place in TT to do so. As a result, I may have failed to report relevant unearned income (no kiddie tax) whereas her sibling with similar unearned income, reported on form 8814, did owe tax. Confusing, and unable to find help online.
What's great about it: A snap to import from prior years
What's not so great: failed to link dependent's return

Highly Recommend

I always paid to have my taxes done, fearing I'd mess up, but this year I moved and couldn't take it to my usually place, so I decided to do it myself rather than find a new place. It was super easy and not as painful as I thought. Not only is it cheaper but you can do it in the comfort of your home and avoid all the long lines at tax places.
What's great about it: really easy to use
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved
