Good Tax Software

The ND state screen requires entries for both ND K-1 Form 58 and Form 60 in order to continue to the next screen. I had only Form 58. So, I had to "dummy up" the Form 60 without entering pertinent data from Form 58, to continue. Seems like there should be a question posed as to which form is needed, 58 or 60.
What's great about it: Easily understood questions that promote accurate returns
What's not so great: Minor issue with ND state for nonresidents with K1

Turbo Tax Review

I WENT THROUGH THE ENTIRE PROCESS OF CREATING MY TAX RETURN AND WHEN I FINISHED IT WOULD ONLY PRINT THE ONE PAGE INSTRUCTION SHEET! NO TAX RETURN TO PRINT OUT. (I CANNOT E-FILE) THE PROGRAM TURNED OUT TO BE USELESS AND A WASTE OF MONEY.
What's great about it: easy to get through
What's not so great: cumbersome and WON'T LET ME PRINT THE RETURN!!!!!!!

You should allow second state to be downloaded at no cost if it can be done online and filed e-file for free

Excellent program, one caveat

Turbo Tax has again provided easy tax preparation for my relatively easy tax return. One excellent feature for those of who return to the program is the automagic filling of demographic information such as names, addresses, DOB, etc. It significantly reduces the time and keystrokes needed to fill out the return.
I don't like the fact that I have to pay extra to E-file my state taxes! There's no additional expense that I know of to Intuit, as MY computer does the work required to E-file. I see it as simply an additional source of revenue to Intuit, at my expense.
I'd like to give Turbo Tax a 4.5 star rating due to the extra filing fee, but that's not possible. The overwhelming ease of use and accuracy forces me to give it a full 5 stars.

Thank Goodness for Turbo Tax

Love the step-by-step guidance and the links to get more information. Although taxes get worse and more complex every year, TT makes it easy to gather my info, input into the system, and submit.
What's great about it: Easy Steps, clear guidance, intuitive functions

Paying Big Time

Overall Excellent.
I had a very complicated return this year and was pleased that TT properly accounted for all aspects of filing.
Checked with my CPA on a few of TT's treatment and he concurred that TT was correct.
Pay the piper !

What's great about it: Complex Return done nicely
What's not so great: Checks between forms and screen entries didn't always synch
Pros: I bought or sold investments
