What's great about it: Easy to use, transfers info easily, its deductible works great
What's not so great: I do the taxes for my two sons also, do not like that I am only allowed one state. I could go to a tax preparer.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I was unable to import investment information directly from the companies this year. Turbo Tax required I get the information from a record-keeping system, such as Quicken. Because I don't use such a system, I was required to hand enter every number, which was very time consuming.
I may not use Turbo Tax next year if I cannot download information directly from the companies as I have done in previous years. I am certainly not recommending Turbo Tax to my friends.
What's great about it: I could do my taxes at home.
What's not so great: I was not able to import investment information.

first time user all in all a great experience should be much easier next filing year
What's great about it: asking questions for deductions and all the forms created
What's not so great: some categories for 1099 Int hard to identify and banking institutions difficult to select

TurboTax is so nice to have. It steps you thru deductions I would have missed had I not used the program

Might as well use a calculator

If the program's help feature would connect directly to appropriate IRS documents to provide explanations, I would feel more confident that I'm doing the right things. As it is, I have little confidence that my tax forms are correct and to my best advantage.
What's great about it: Transfer of info from year to year is a great timesaver.
What's not so great: There are so many questions, but no explanations of what things are.
