leaves a few blanks on state returns

easy to use and does a good job with most forms. Takes a long time to start up, then it is very responsive. Even though I entered my bank routing and account numbers, when it came time to complete the Indiana SC-40 form, it left those two fields blank.
What's great about it: easy to use with good explanations
What's not so great: slow and did not fully complete Indiana tax form

Five Years Running

Completed five years in a row. Covers everything. If you have your documents, you can do it. Every year gets easier as Turbo Tax pulls info from previous years. I love hitting the e-file button!

Always Simple

As a pastor, IRS says I am an employee for some things and self-employed for others. TurboTax wades through all the ins and outs of the complex tax laws and always does the best for me and my situation.
What's great about it: Even though my taxes are complex, TurboTax makes it easy

Almost Painless Tax Prep

I've been using TurboTax for many years. I like the transfer feature at the beginning. The only problem is the data entry for detailed itemized deductions, and that's an IRS problem, not a software limitation.
Having all the IRS rules at your fingertips and the ability to view tax summaries year-over-year are valuable. The e-file feature is the cherry on top. I hated mailing the forms and making the trip to the post office. The charge for e-filing is reasonable. The free state software is appreciated and, if I were willing, I could probably complete both federal and state forms in one miserable weekend.

A few new steps - but all good

Been using Turbo Tax for years. Couldn't be too much easier. Just follow the steps and the program will walk you through each section.
What's great about it: Always questions things that don't look right. Do like all of the new fraud steps at the end.
What's not so great: Certain deductions in our state refund have to be searched for to take them.
