TT for 2015

It certainly encodes all the incredibly complicated tax regulations which are impossible to follow it seems. Often I don't know why TT does certain things. Like I had a capital loss carry forward and I thought it was limited to $3000 deduction but TT took it all. And when it comes to the AMT it is a completely obscure entity. I would like to be able to play with the numbers more to see if I reduced a deduction in one place is it compensated by an increase somewhere else or does it actually make no difference. I take business deductions but it doesn't seem to make any difference to the takes I owe.
What's great about it: picks up data from previous years, does all calculations
What's not so great: doesn't go back to where I left off most of the time

I did ok with answering the questions with the prompts given. Sometimes I was bewildered by the flow and the repetiousness of the forms. I had to go to the "back" button alot and re-read what I was looking for.
Maybe next year you could design a Turbo Tax for elderly people to navigate with ease in understanding what should be entered., with fewer technical words to follow.
What's great about it: I especially liked the questions
What's not so great: Sometimes confusing

I had to give back $64 to the Los Angeles Unified School District for an overpayment.
I could not find out how to calculate my overpayment.

I tried to find it.
It was more difficult this year getting additional information than last year.
I struggled and I guess your company is the only game in town. I was appalled that it was recommended to use a more expensive version in the middle of preparing the taxes.

What's not so great: harder to navigate this year than lst
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Generally excellent. However, when an amount is entered in Schedule A, Line 11 there should be a prompt to enter a description. I have been called in to explain (interest on our motorhome as second home).
Also when listing donated items the guide does not allow typing in items not prelisted.

This was my first time doing a tax return myself and I cant believe I didn't start years ago. Now I am questioning if my "tax guy" got me a max refund all those years!!

Easy but thorough

I've been using TurboTax for Mac for almost 10 years. This software has never made me think about looking for another one.
What's great about it: Loading my info from last year, going over EVERY & ALL possibilities.
What's not so great: Not coming up with any shortcomings.

Even I Can Do It

It gets better and better. I've used it for years.
What's great about it: I'm not a 'numbers' guy. I'm not into financial stuff, and Turbo Tax takes all the concern out of filing.
