Fantastic product, one major flaw

Been using for maybe 15+ years, always great, never misses a deduction or correction. Easy to follow, correct, update, amend, edit.
One flaw-- it assumes you want to use the larger deduction of State Income or State Sales tax but flaw = it takes the State Income tax WITHHELD as the deduction, not the final calc State Income tax. But if you get a State refund this refund becomes taxable income because previously you deducted it. So to go back and select the State Sales tax as your better deduction, you have to file an amended Fed return. Bummer. Better to provide a check-loop or redo-loop after calculating your State return, to go back to the Fed return and compare the State Sales tax vs. the State Actual Income tax (not the State Income tax Withheld) as the better deduction for Fed. TurboTax NEEDS TO FIX THIS FLAW.

Lost everything, my fault Saved a blank return

I was doing very well going in every few days and adding information. then I was asked to save the return I did and I lost everything. When I began again I could not download my 2014 data and had to retype everything. Also the PINs a confusing. Just hope the electronic file goes through.
What's great about it: Easy to use most of the time
What's not so great: hard to save data, sometime confusing

Turbo Tax Is Good

Been using Turbo Tax since the mid 1990's. I like it, easy to use, will continue to use it as long as I have to pay taxes.

I feel much safer using this than trying to read through all the written documents to make sense of them and hoping I understood them correctly.
What's great about it: easy to follow instructions and can close and reopen when searching for receipts
What's not so great: time consuming entering all the data

Too Many Jumps

It took too long to find specific things, such as Personal property tax in the Federal area. When things could be found, the program worked fine.
What's great about it: Well Explained at detail level
What's not so great: I couldn't find things the program referenced.

State return - printed copy for filing

The State printing process needs attention. It was marginal last year, this year it's 'broken.'
What's great about it: Initial State preparation very straight forward.
What's not so great: The process to print a State copy for filing is very convoluted.

Obama Care

Turbo tax forces you to fill out the Obama Care 1095-A even if you pay for the silver or gold plan in full. If you pay in full you usually don't get a 1095-A form. I spent a lot of time on the phone with Obama care before I got an answer.
