Tax Year 2015
on April 5, 2016

I have been using TurboTax for my returns for years now. Each year, the imposition and intrusiveness that tax time causes along with the inherent angst, TurboTax has always walked me through the steps with confidence and assurance that it will be done right and accurately. I'm 79-yearss old now and TurboTax is still considered to be my "Go-To-Guy" when tax season arises. The Audit Defense supplement assures me my taxes were done with confidence and completely accurate. But just in case, Audit Defense is there.
Thank you Turbo Tax for your quality driven service. I never had to leave my home to fprepare or file either.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax is and hasalways been a quality driven tax preparer
What's not so great: None that come to mind, now or in the past.

Eased my mind!

I am glad that Intuit decided to issue Turbotax Deluxe with the original content (Schedule C for self-employment income). This product is so well done that I would never use any other tax program. I save hundreds by not having to hire an accountant. I have been using Turbotax for 10 years and have never had an audit or inquiry due to errors. I hate doing taxes, but using Turbotax eases my mind on so many levels.
What's great about it: SO easy and thorough. I felt confident that my tax return would be perfect and have no errors or ommissions.

It would be nice if there was an index that you could look something up and it would show you exactly where that item is posted in Turbo. Even when you look it up it is not very clear as to where entries go. Example: Interest on Series EE bonds Contributions to State tuition Plans Mileage for second job
What's great about it: I like the step by step. Very helpful that it shows the previous year so you know if you forgot something.
What's not so great: Not very explicit. Like asking specifically for Series Bonds so you know you are placing in the right place.

Since my returns are about the same every year the import of last years information saves tons of time. The menus come up based on last year and all I have to do is plug in some numbers - DONE!!! Too Easy!
What's great about it: Easy!!!

TurboTax 2015 review

We have a long list of charities to which we donate. From one year to the next we add new ones. We might skip a year or 2 for others but still keep them in the list. The list of charities gets to be quite long and I would like to be able to sort them alphabetically.
Another issue was for charity events we sponsored, paying out of pocket for catering expenses. There does not seem to be a good way to enter these outlays in TurboTax.
We had some tax-free investments and I was prepared to make an adjustment in my Wisconsin return for that but it never came up.
What's great about it: Got me thru it.
What's not so great: charity donation set-up falls short

Instructions prohibit entry of K-1 line 1 and 2 and 3. You said prepare a separate K-1 for each line item. Every K-1 has a tax ID no. Attempting to enter a separate K-1 for line 2 caused all the entries on Lines 4 to 20 to show up on the "new" K-1. This was bad because the amounts were relatively insignificant and mostly disallowed loss. I reported line 1 and, unable to find a way to do it, omitted line 2 ($77 loss on one K-1,$12 gain on another) and line 3 ($2 loss). The return was accepted as filed. Can't you find an alternative to file a separate K-1 for each of the entries on lines 1, 2 and 3?
What's not so great: Input from K-1 is confusing

Seems to get better each year. A good value.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: Audit Defense Plan seems to be expensive so I haven't used it.
