Couldn't do my taxes without a program like Turbotax. I come back to Turbotax because it's worked great for me for five years. The hidden costs (state fees, filing fees) and subtle nudges to upgrade (from Deluxe to Premier) are annoying, but overall it seems worth the cost. Have not compared it to other tax prep software, but definitely wins over paying an agency or filing by hand.
What's great about it: Very easy and straightforward - everyone should use
What's not so great: Occasionally crashes, lots of hidden costs (state fees, filing fees, optional add-ons)

Easy, Fast, and Accurate

TurboTax is the least expensive and most comprehensive help that an individual can get to prepare your tax return. I hope that anyone considering Turbo Tax would just make the decision and give the product an opportunity.
What's great about it: I love the way the program walks me through all my options in each category.
What's not so great: About 6 years ago I accidently paid the IRS my return refund for future tax payments

Fed tax was a breeze! But State tax was confusing

It seemed that declaration of state earned income was needed to be entered 2x and was taxed double. Need to give more detailed instructions.
What's great about it: Fed tax was easily understood
What's not so great: State tax was very confusing

Turbo Tax 2014

I feel It done as good a job of some of the professionals I have hired in the past. Very easy to follow along and not forget anything to include. Great Job.
What's great about it: Very easy
What's not so great: sometimes got lost on the Federal Pin Sheet

another wasted day for tax return

This year was my third time using TT. Overall software is easy to use, having option to import donations is very useful. I am mostly ok with deductions without explanations, but as I had to file 2 states, it was really hard for me to track down what was entered on one state and not on the other one. There were deductions that I have no idea how they were calculated. Linking a deduction (or a number in general) to its formula to show how it was calculated would be very useful. There is a bug in the software that keeps preventing filing the return with "IT-201 Page 1-2: sch district has too many characters" error. You can fix this by changing your residency status and setting it back, but finding this fix was not easy. I used mac this year and software freezed 2 times and some of the options became not functional. So I have to reinstall one of the states to fix the problem. Last years experience was less painful.
What's great about it: Most stuff is simple to use
What's not so great: Some deductions are hard to understand
