Overall a useful program that makes tax returns easy to generate.
Additionally the creators of TurboTax make improvements every year and seem to listen to their customers.
What's great about it: Easy to import information from prior returns and financial account
What's not so great: Some aspects can be frustrating for example tracking items in the smart check.

I have used TurboTax for many years to prepare my mother's and my own income taxes. The program is user-friendly, thorough and accurate. TurboTax is almost a pain-free method to file your taxes!

I have used turbo tax for the past 10 years, and it has always prepared my taxes with confidence. I'm very pleased wtih TurboTax.
What's great about it: No worries. It works everytime.
What's not so great: There are no cons.

Concerned about 2016 payment vouchers

We only owe $738 and we need to pay estimated taxes for 2016? That does not appear to be correct.
What's great about it: quick and easy
What's not so great: The tax program printed out estimated tax vouchers for 2016 at $921 a quarter.

If you do not mind doing all the work and have a relatively straight forward return you cannot beat turbo tax. IF you have a complicated one you should get professional advise.

What's not so great: small con-it takes time to get all information together

Good but problems

Every time I opened this application it insisted on reinstalling an update which I already had. There was no way to refuse the update like "later,not now".
What's great about it: Ability to back up any info space
What's not so great: Repetitive update requirement with no escape

Mostly user friendly

I entered all our info quite easily and mind you I don't speak taxes. I liked how TTax told you exactly what form to look at and at which line item to find the answer... whether it be last year's return or a 1099 from this year. Very helpful when you don't know what to expect or what to be looking for. However, once at the review section, everything did not make sense to me (because they do the additions and subtractions for you) "my" numbers were different. It would have been very helpful if I could have clicked on any/all of the review numbers at the review page and it take us right back to the form/section where my numbers were entered. ie: we had a 1099 from a previous employer's settlement on wages that TTax converted to self-employment income. We are not self-employed so this was a big red flag! I wish I could have clicked on that SE section in the review to know that it was generated off the 1099. After hours (literally) of searching (back through my form and online), then deleting, then reentering, I finally deduced that the SE tax and deduction came from this tiny 1099 income. What a headache! But everything else was a very user-friendly breeze. Next year we shouldn't have any exciting 1099s and we will, without hesitation, choose TTax again.
What's great about it: TTax asked all the right q's so I didn't miss anything
What's not so great: the review didn't take you right back to the form in question

State return frustrated me.

The unwanted forms which just seemed to show up and which I could not remove prevented e-filing the state return.
What's great about it: The Federal Return was simple and easy.
What's not so great: State Return kept adding unwanted and inappropriate forms.
