Why do you have to enter confirmation codes so many times???
What's great about it: It can walk you through everything
What's not so great: Entering the comfirmation codes more than once.

Federal is great, state... not so much

It seems like the VA state filing has taken a big step back. Used to be just as easy to follow as the Fed return. This year, I could not find anything and nothing made any sense. For example, the deduction for 529 contributions appears under an income category. Also, there was very little helpful information embedded for state tax preparation.
What's great about it: Federal tax prep is easy and quite detailed
What's not so great: The VA process is impossible to follow

Excellent way to file your taxes

We have a Farm and Ranch and Turbo Tax makes it real easy to file a schedule F now. I went through all the trouble to itemize all our deductions then found out at the end the standard deduction was more so it was a waste of time. Wish I had known it up front.
What's great about it: The simple way to file a schedule F
What's not so great: Wish I'd known the standard deduction before itemizing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I keep returning to this program year after year because it is easy to understand and guides you through all the steps. Takes a lot of the stress out of tax preparation.
What's great about it: Walks you through everything.
What's not so great: No negatives.

Way too expensive. No state with Federal purchase...you have doubled your price. You raised the price on filing. Next year it is on to a new system for me.

Divorced but TT kept spouse's 5-digit PIN

I'm only giving it 4 instead of 5 because, upon reviewing the PDF copy before filing, I found that Turbo Tax had retained my former spouse's 5-digit PIN, even though I had listed my status as divorced and removed her from any and all other documents. Other than that one thing - easy, clear, good tax prep package.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax is great tax prep software

Simple, fast, accurate

I have used Turbo Tax for over ten years. It is always simple, fast, and hassle-free. I can get my taxes done in only a few hours, and that includes itemized deductions. Well worth my time.
