Good and through, but pay for state filing?

I really like Turbo Tax and think it does an excellent job. It's great that you can have it figure out the values of the items you donated and locate answers to your questions. The only issue I had was that I already paid for the state to be added when I purchased the software CD and then when I filed, I had to pay for the state once again! What the heck?! I don't know why? Was it when I was told I would get money back but then the amount I owed for the state didn't change and I pressed the wrong button??!! Very upsetting.
What's great about it: very complete and easy
What's not so great: time consuming and felt the state filing fee was added on extra

This program makes taxes easy. All you need is to have all of your information together and have a little patience.
What's great about it: Same every year. Always easy, always thorough
What's not so great: None.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

TurboTax misses a lot but still worth using

the 5695 form for Federal credit on energy star rebate issues is completely wrong, also the forms deleted my property tax paid a few times and it missed that I entered the wrong year on my daughter who wound up being older than me, any check should have caught that, it typically has a hard time with sales tax credits and vehicle property tax
What's great about it: imports all forms and step by step normally ok
What's not so great: not very good for harder issues

What's great about it: Steps are mostly easy to follow.
What's not so great: Not many, but there are a few places where the next step is not clear. But, eventually, you can figure it out :)

Using Turbo tax saves us time and money, allowing us to work on our return when it is convenient for us, to save and come back to the work in progress and to avoid missing work time to see an accountant. We appreciate the way our records from prior years are carried over automatically. We value the advice in the forms and that we can follow a guided path or go directly to where we need to update or review something. I'm confident in my return and that we did not pay more tax than necessary. Thank you!
