The US Gov. on line system didn't work to give my PIN had to use phone. Phone took several tries to get it.
Appreciated the prompts, look forward to using next year with retained information to speed the process.
Despite an electrical failure while I was at a critical point of downloading the one free state package, the Turbo Tax captured all and was back up when I was able to reboot!
I am a happy customer. Bill
What's great about it: liked the short, easy to understand prompts and pull downs for more information
What's not so great: problem with checking 'Retain" box when paying with credit card not fixed

Finally got the Ala. return to delete DFAS (Navy Retirement) and Civil Service retirement Income. Unable to delete U.S. Bond Interest on the form. Military and Civ Service and Bond income not taxable in Ala.
What's great about it: Great program with a couple of glitches
What's not so great: Will not exempt U.S. Bond interest on State Return (ALA)

After decades of doing my own taxes, it was quick and easy to switch to TurboTax. With a child newly in college, TurboTax stepped me through these new steps smoothly.

Generally great, but with a couple of glitches

I've been working with Turbo Tax for several years now. Overall, I like it, but they really seem to have a difficult time handling clergy housing allowance. The first time I used it (somewhere around 2005), they had a hard time even recognizing it. Now they accept it, but then add it to income, then at the last minute ask about it and deduct it from income. It's infuriating. This is my advice to any clergy using it. Go ahead and fill out the form, following the prompts, knowing that things will be out of whack. When they review your federal form, they'll spot the error and correct it then. So don't panic as you complete each section of the federal form, since they'll get it right in the end.

Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
