Without the inheritance questions specifically, I had to ask question, use ,jump to, and I'm not sure it is right, although each question asked came back right.
What's great about it: Great!
What's not so great: Did not have 1099S or inhertience questions.

Easy As Ever

Once again I used Turbo-Tax as I have since 2000. I found it to be simple and accurate and not that expensive. I'm glad that I started to use it and I mention it to whoever asks me about filing.
What's great about it: It's just a matter of following step by step.
What's not so great: None that I know of.

TurboTax Deluxe

Been using TT for several years but this one had several issues that annoyed me. The help links were not as helpful as those in previous years. Not as much information and sometimes they sent me to read the unreadable writing of the IRS. My major pet peeve is with Intuit in general. When I had an option to get a PIN/code number through email, it never came no matter how often I retried. This is also a major problem with Quicken. I know I will be told to check my spam folder. I did one better by erasing everything in that folder. Since it was completely empty there was no reason not to get an email, but it never arrived. I tt would have been simpler to send a code number to my cell phone which most other organizations do. I wish Intuit would start doing that so I would not have to use their cumbersome alternatives. For my money I'm starting to consider dropping TurboTax next year for another method. Sorry about that Intuit but this year's software was of lesser quality than previous years.
What's great about it: Easy to follow and backtrack
What's not so great: Help menus were in extremely small fonts - hard to read

MN State Adjustments were confusing!

I've used TurboTax for years to complete my tax return. Typically, if I have questions, I'm able to sort them out. However, the instructions that came with calculating my MN AGI (because of law changes not adopted by MN) was very confusing this year. It took a good amount of time to figure out how to calculate the changes (myself, by hand), just enter a $3 change in my itemized deductions that ended up having no impact on my final tax bill.
My wife asked a very good question...isn't this software supposed to calculate that itself?
What's great about it: 95% of return was easy, as usual!
What's not so great: MN adjustments were really confusing this year.

I have used Turbo Tax for several years and didn't think that this process could be more detailed and easier---I was wrong. 2015 Turbo was great and I have no doubt that I will use it next year. Good job Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: Easier than in the past
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I've compared Turbo tax with others twice now. I paid extra to have a couple of others do my taxes. Turbo tax covered things the others missed and it matched the lowest return. The highest was over 4 times the lowest. Quite a range ... pick your tools wisely.
What's great about it: Easy to use and I trust the results
