Speedier this year

This is the fourth time my husband and I have prepared our tax returns with Turbo Tax. It is great that it automatically loads the information from last year's return, and I am confident about the updates.
It is very convenient that the program will upload W-2 and other forms from investment companies.
To make the process even faster, make sure to have all of your tax documents gathered already and then one of us reads forms while the other enters into Turbo Tax. It only took us about three hours start to finish this year.

What's great about it: The questions were easy and the calculations seemed faster
What's not so great: additional cost for state filing

too hard to load

Each year I buy the current copy of turbo tax. each year I have to upload changes that take time. This year I had to stop a return in the middle of preparations and all that downloading of updates had to be done again.
What's great about it: i did not have to do the figuring
What's not so great: too hard and slow to load

2015 TAXES

STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE DONATION OF A [NET VALUE AFTER APPRAISEMENT & SOME CASH RECEIVED] $6,800 CAR.... HAD ZERO EFFECT ON REFUND FOR 2014 TAXES

Disappointed this year for 2015

Have used Turbo Tax for many years with good experiences. But this year, my return would not reload after partial completion and closing. Had to experiment with several solutions until I found REPAIR as a choice when I went to uninstall program. (Which I was going to do with trepidation as I was afraid I would lose my partially completed return as well.) It did repair the program, but then when I closed and tried to reopen again, I had to go through the same process.
Next, I was trying to pay for my state efile by credit card. After Turbo Tax saved, it gave me a blank screen. Again had to try several things-had trouble getting into Turbo Tax online-finally I restarted computer and FINALLY I got a "login to pay". Never had to do this any other year as I recall. Did then make payment and rest of efile went OK. I hope my returns really were efiled after all the trouble. All these problems made me very upset and disappointed with Turbo Tax for 2015.

Tqax Form Prep Experience

The IRS has made tax preparation so bizarrely complex, even for individuals without exotic investments, that you cannot do taxes by hand without risking errors. Turbo tax is a great alternative to either preparing tax forms yourself or paying a professional.
What's great about it: Easily understood instructions and drop down menus

Simple and Intuitive

Overall this was a great experience. Very simple and easy to use. I give it 5 stars in every area possible. The only thing I think detracts from it is not including State E-Filing.
What's great about it: It was very easy to use and asked the questions in a way that it's easy to understand.
What's not so great: Does not include State E-Filing
