Easy Does It

I use to do my own taxes for years. Took 5 - 6 hours. This was less - about 1 1/2 hours mostly because I typed in all my info ( first time user). looking forward to next year. Plus I got a larger refund!
What's great about it: Was easy

TT OK, State needs help

1) Seems to be lot of fee's first you pay to buy the state then pay the same again to e-file a state. Probably wont use Turbo tax next year for state due to this. Was not explained up front that my first purchase would cost me additional dollars at filing.
2) the state directions in TT were severely lacking for OK state filing.
If I had not gone to the OK tax site and read up myself I would have failed to file some critical papers. It was not clear that once you efile there are additional papers that need to be mailed in. TT buried these in a form that normally you just save off and did not provide any on-screen guidance that a mailing was also required,
Finally as I did e-file the state the statement at the end that I had "elected" to not e-sign the filing was totally erroneous. It was a state req that did not allow a e-sign for a 1st time filing. Caused me some confusion.

Overall this is a great way to file your taxes. I just wish the home office section was easier to understand.
What's great about it: Majority of topics are easy to understand
What's not so great: Home Office filing I find confusing and never complete it

Very Useful Tool

I've used Turbo Tax for years and it has generally made the process very easy and straight forward.
However - a few screens are a little hard to understand. For example, I got hung up trying to enter my property tax info. Finally a double clicked on a part of the page and a new screen popped up.
All in all a good way to go.
What's great about it: Taxes Completed Very Quickly
What's not so great: A Little Klugy

Ease of use

On the over all rating I would give this an Excellent. But was a little frustrating not to see what I had claimed or to be able to compare the previous years return with just a click. I am pretty sure this has been brought up before by someone. Just make it read only and grayed out. Otherwise an excellent program. Thank you for the hard work and research in helping me.
What's great about it: Very easy to follow instructions and prompts. Gave good explainations and examples.
What's not so great: Would like to see the details of the past years entries were. To see if I had missed something on current year's return
