Good Job on Return

I do my brothers taxes with Turbo Tax also. Our first names start with the same letter. You need to include entire first name as part of the saved file reference to make it easier to click on the file you want to work on. Other than that small inconvenience, Turbo Tax has done an excellent job of keeping up with the tax laws and making preparing a tax return fairly easy. I do think that you should not be charging for electronically filing the state tax returns.
What's great about it: Easy step-by-step instructions
What's not so great: Need to use surname and first name rather than an initial to determine return to go to.

Money Well Spent

Couldn't have been easier. Completed my and my girlfriend's returns in less than 2 hours. With that said, it's seriously time to debunk the tax system. No offense to TurboTax - I'm referring to the IRS. 105 pages of instructions just for the 1040 (that doesn't include instructions for any supporting schedules, etc.). The EZ form instructions are 44 pages - that doesn't sound EASY to me. Call me a dreamer but something has to give.
What's great about it: Painless
What's not so great: Time to simplify taxes
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Worth the money

Turbo Tax is just that, asks the right questions so you only need to fill out the information that you need, and you are finished in turbo time. Have used it for several years and it has never failed me.
What's great about it: Very easy tax submission

I have been using Turbotax Deluxe for years, and swear by it. The time i checked by return with an accountant, there were no differences so why bother? I'm happy with the level of complexity and still ease of use.
What's great about it: Guided entry, quick calculations

The Deluxe still does not have form 8606 available. You can not always e-file even if you want you.
What's great about it: It saves a lot of time. The Goodwill Charity donation help is first class.
What's not so great: You have to scroll down to the bottom of the screen to press continue.

old version is better then new

Every time I tried opening up turbo to do or continue my tax prep
It said I had to update.Its Important to have a button to continue with out updating? In prior years I could do my taxes without updating and just do one upgrade before filing!! I have slow DSL and during the downloading it would quit many times. I was very frustrating to do up to 8 tries for up to 40 minutes each and have to try again and again.The problem was not my computer or the dsl . It was your website that would cut me off. I spent over 8 hours waiting for upgrades!!! If this happens next year I will return Turbo to the store and use other tax software

I have been using turbo for over 5 years and this is the worst version ever
