Where is the automation I've come to expect?

First off, while searching for the .tax information, all it located was the PDF files in the Turbotax folder. Apparently, for the first time, after using Turbotax since it first came out many years ago, the 2014 versiont didn't save the .tax forms. So I had to manually enter a majority of the information for my forms.
The other issue I have is that after I did fill in my dependents' information, then completed the 8814's, I had to manually type in all that information again. This is ridiculous! There should have been a selection that listed my dependents and allowed me to select the one for that form.
I count on Turbotax to keep me abreast of all required tax information while completing my taxes, but also to automate as much of the process as possible. While I have to assume the program has kept me legal this year with the US Govt, it was sorely lacking on the automation side.
This is the first year I've ever considered looking for an alternative tax software. Turbotax made a very undesireable task even more so. Please improve Intuit!
What's great about it: Quicker than manually filing taxes on Govt forms
What's not so great: Lack of intuitive form fill & last years edition DID NOT save the .tax forms, just pdf's

2015 Taxes

All things considered very fast and easy.
What's great about it: Fast and easy as usual
What's not so great: Last year it stepped you through all categories and choose yes or no. This year I had to pick categories to examine.

Feeling like I have a monkey off of my back now that I'm done with filing taxes. YEAH!
What's great about it: walks one through taxes; expected to take all weekend and got done in a couple of hours
What's not so great: a little confusing in one section only, but I muddled through

Great to use and what a positive that Turbo Tax just doesn't sit on its laurels and continues to improve its product. Very satisfied user for many years now and will continue in the future.

Possible Error

Somehow, I was not prompted to enter the 1099-R information and it went to the end and was ready to complete the return. I remembered that I had downloaded last years 1040, so Turbo Tax should have not missed this.

Excellent product - have used it for years

I have used Turbotax for years and will continue to do so in the future. The interview process is easy, and you can switch back to looking at the forms at any time. My returns are usually complex, and Turbotax handles them effortlessly. Some of the more esoteric interview questions are hard to figure out the answers to, but the help screens usually lead to the right answer. I recommend Turbotax to anyone wishing to file their own taxes.
What's great about it: Step by Step interview is easy
What's not so great: Answers to some of the questions are occasionally hard to figure out

Awesome Tool!

For the price and time savings, there's no other way to go. I almost excluded my state return from the previous year, so just be sure that if you KNOW certain income or deductibles should be entered, that those are entered and not skipped.
What's great about it: Very Quick, Efficient, major time-saver
What's not so great: Be careful to ensure all income & deductibles are entered
