Finally! Barry quickly, professionally assisted me

When I started the final phase of the process, I was unable and frustrated trying to get through to someone so that I could pay with a credit card. Barry very quickly directed me to the solution of my problem and reestablished my faith in Turbotax. I did not like the fact that you couldn't just click on pay by credit card and file without having to PAY for the Tax Help. O told my wife that this is the last year for my using Turbotax, but because of Barry's help, I'll give Turbotax another chance

The Easiest Best Tax Season Ever

For the average person there is no better way to fill out and file your annual taxes. TurboTax knows things that would take months to read up on. And that is its real value: knowledge. This is my eleventh year in a row filing with TT.

Audit Defense Insurance

Turbo Tax deluxe was much better this year, was able to do a simple stock sale this year.
There was a problem with the mechanics of purchasing audit defense insurance. I was able to purchase the audit defense insurance for myself from within the program without a problem. However, I also did my son's returns and the program did not permit me to purchase the audit defense insurance for him. I ended up calling the turbo tax rep., after many unsuccessful attempts she referred me directly to Tax Resources. They were finally able to help me and I was able to purchase the audit defense insurance for my son directly from Tax Resources. Unfortunately, this took a lot of time and was inconvenient. TurboTax should fix this problem.
What's great about it: good buy
What's not so great: difficult to buy

Online versus Download - Comparisons and contrasts have to be clearer at the time you're deciding on which product to use. Downloadable form has always been superior for us, but in a fatigued state, I chose online, and then had to back out of it with the help of your support folks.
There might be a glitch on the New York State return. We chose to have our refund direct deposited and entered all the info. However, in the final processing, the refund via debit card was also checked off along with the direct deposit, and we couldn't "unchoose"the former. Luckily, the filed papers contained the correct information.
What's great about it: Fairly easy to use.
What's not so great: Online versus Download

Not as good as previous years

I've used TT since its inception and generally it gets a little better every year. This year they didn't carry forward my IRA basis from 2014. I had to go to my paper copy from last year and enter the data. This is inefficient and has the risk of a key error. TT, stop regressing!
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: doesn't import all data from prior year
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Sometimes the wording of what was wanted was off; but the good thing I was able to go back and change my answers.
What's great about it: Walked me thru what I needed.
What's not so great: Picked up extra numbers which did not add up.
