Good no bad

This year was the easiest return I have ever had to file. Since TurboTax put back in the forms missing in 2014 I had no problems.
What's great about it: Simple abd east to use.
What's not so great: I had no problems or complaints

Nice interface and step by step guide with the ability to manually input just what applies...saves from all the research of what qualifies
What's great about it: The step through process to include nonstandard deductions

- I had a dummy 2014 TT file used to estimate tax implications of income options. 2015 TT evidently pulled this file in with no options as to which one to use. Could not correct. Had to check all transferred entries. Historic comparisons not valid.
I marked that everyone had health ins for 2014. Did not transfer to the worksheet.
Option for direct deposit should be given prior to starting e-filing.
As always, effective tax rate is based upon gross rather than taxable income.

No Accountant Required

I have used Turbo Tax for years but was concerned that I would need an accountant this year due to sale of a home, part year residence in multiple states, beginning to take distributions from retirement accounts, etc. But as usual turbo tax walked me through it all with no difficulty.

Turbo Tax makes it easy to file your taxes, not fun, just easy. Covers every aspect of the tax return, and handles the parts of your tax return exactly the way you want them to be handled. Even the method used to obtain the Federal PIN is quick and easy. May be better than using a CPA!
What's great about it: professional and thorough
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

using it for more than 10 years, excellent experience on the accuracy and fast for the refund. unfortunately, I need to pay this year on the lump sum insurance cash value.
