Same Trouble Each Year

Turbo Tax sometimes treats pensions as IRA distributions.
Each year Turbo Tax does not bring forward my entire NYS refund. I can't figure out why.

Turbo Tax for 15 years

1. When you return to a section already completed to edit the data, you should not have to go through every screen and fill out the same data a second time.
2. Turbo Tax changed the approach to list property donated to charitable organizations. Currently there is no way to add an item that is not already identified in the pull down list. It would be advantageous to have the ability to have a manual entry to add an item to the list of donated items that is not included in the pull down list.
What's great about it: Easy to use.
What's not so great: Limited approach for listing donated items.

Great

Great for doing your taxes cheap. Easy to follow instructions. Only thing I didn't like is that I did my last years return on XP operating system. I had to do it on the new computer window 10 but it could not get my 2014 off of my xp and put on window 10 to transfer all information. So I had to type it all in again.
What's great about it: Easy
What's not so great: you can't transfer from a different computer.

Instead of going back to the top of the page after every edit. Just drop me back where I was to continue editing.
It needs a little more explanation on 1099 B entries. What is needed and how to find it. ie) cost basis. Can be found by contacting your financial institute or website xyz.com . Explain that zero is a not valid answer.
What's great about it: It is pretty easy to fill out and all of the forms were there. It waled me through all of the lines with good questions
What's not so great: After filling out the enitre form and going back to check item or edit line it alwasy went back to the top of the page.

PLEASE look at the Kansas Return questionnaire. For the last two years there was never a field that allowed you to reenter Federally tax-exempt interest, so I had to manually enter it through the forms view for Schedule S. And when I did this, it automatically generated a K-40H the Homestead Relief Refund form, which, in no way, applied to my situation. And it generated this form with the adjustment I made, but made it a negative number, which caused the error. I had to do an override of the field in the form to delete it and fix the error. Please fix this for next year! Thanks!
What's great about it: Federal is quick and easy
What's not so great: Kansas was not complete and self generated errors

Excellent Improvements

I am very pleased with this year's improvements for filing. I found it most reassuring that I was filling out every section correctly and not missing a thing. I was done in record time this year. Thanks!
What's great about it: I liked the detailed and specific questions and choices when filling out every item.
What's not so great: Nothing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

BEST WAY To Do Your Taxes

I love this program, I have been using this program since the 90's, when it was known as Personal Tax Preparer before being acquired by TurboTax/Intuit. It has just gotten better each year. I wouldn't know what to do without it. Thank you for being such a trustworthy, worthwhile product. I trust your program to solve my tax preparation issue each and every year.
What's great about it: Simple, yet thorough
