I have used Turbo Tax since 2006 and it just gets easier every year. Same basic format with good explanations readily available. Bringing information forward and auto filling speeds things up and reduces errors.
What's great about it: Easy flow
What's not so great: Nothing that I see

Have used for several years. As long as you don't panic over the legalize! this program walks you through the return step by step inch by inch!
What's great about it: thorough instructions, can go back and forth without loosing info
What's not so great: don't be afraid, it really does explain step by step once as long as you read very word!
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Needs Improvement

We file a combined Fed and NE, but want to file separately on separate returns in IA. In IA, your filing status can be different than Fed or in NE. Anyway, there is no way in the product to file separately in IA without creating three returns --- one for Fed and NE, one for tax payer for Fed, NE, and IA, and a third for spouse Fed, NE, and IA (in all cases, the FED and NE are for combined returned). This is very complex 5to do and eliminates the advantages of using your product. I might as well have done all returns manually.
What's not so great: state filing

Solid performance, few new security glitches
on April 1, 2016

I was happy to be able to do my federal and state taxes by myself in a very short period of time. It always helps when you can load data from the year before. This was the first year that I had trouble with my account (to buy the 2015 software) and to pay for the state file. Although I am not sure, I have a feeling there is enhanced security this year. Either way, I got through it and was satisfied. Will definitely use TurboTax again next year.
What's great about it: Simple, helpful, able to file on my own
What's not so great: new glitches could be enhanced security
