Reliable

I've used TTax for decades. I use Easy Step and just answer the questions. So far it's been reliable and accurate. The tax man has only complained once (2014), And he was wrong.
What's great about it: Easy Step led me through the process reliably again. Just answer the question and TTax does the rest.
What's not so great: TTax told me it had printed "all the forms I needed to submit", but it forgot to print 1098-C. I found it.

Importing last year's info is EXTREMELY helpful for a more complete return.
What's great about it: walking through everything
What's not so great: couldn't find refund option to leave it with IRS

Confusion

I found this year's preparation somewhat more confusing than prior years, especially when "wrapping Up". Trying to sell more products at te same time I was preparing the return for submission caused me some problems.

Needs a better over ride system. Or at least a better method to correct erroneous entries.

What's not so great: TT makes too many assumptions; puts too many business items automatically into wrong business form.

Tax filing made easy

I like doing my own taxes but this year the Schedule C income portion for combining the 1099-Misc. and the self-employment section income was confusing. Still am not sure if the amounts entered were transferred correctly because all it showed was edit or delete on the 1099-MISC.
What's great about it: Get to look up information when you aren't sure
What's not so great: Changes on the self-employment income (Sched. C)

What's great about it: I have used Turbo Tax for years and it is very intuitive. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to do their own taxes
