Used this software the last 3 or 4 years. this year it seemed awkward, or off. Got past all the check and balances and ready to send. But I decided to go back and just check, no changes. And the software took me to another place with no changes on my part. Awkward. I don't think the software is as good as it was in the past. Not sure I will use next year.

Turbo Tax Saves the Day and my Input!

I had spent about 6 hours working on my tax return when a bad storm with thunder and lightening moved in. I was just thinking that I needed to save my work when the power went out. All I could hope was that Turbo Tax had saved my entries even though I had not actually saved the file while I was working. The next morning I went into my Turbo Tax program and was greatly relieved to see that I was in the same screen that I had been in when the power went out and that everything that I had entered was still there!
In addition to this, I always appreciate the ease of using TT and the fact that it covers every topic that is included in the complex tax code. If you have any problems, customer service and tech support are very helpful. It is easy to use the step-by-step or go to a form if you want to see what it looks like. I like being able to jump around.
I'm thankful for another year's tax return filed with the help of Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: Saved the data I had entered despite a power outage!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I have been using Turbo Tax for years now and it just keeps getting faster and easier. I listed that as a con because it makes me think I've done something wrong but then it tells me everything is ok!
What's great about it: fast, easy
What's not so great: too easy.

I have been using Turbo tax for a number of years and find it easy and quick for most common items. The Input for K-1's and the sale of I-1 investments needs to be simplified. Never could find how to enter AMT adj. for a sale of K-1. Efile of Federal Return is easy. However, the cost to efile a state return is way too high. Once you efile the Federal Return, it is not intuitive to find how to print the state return for filing. Since I do not receive a State K-1, I have to mail in the state return. It took me a little time to figure out how to do that. Needs to be more intuitive.
What's great about it: Was easy to understand and the walk thru was excellent
What's not so great: Was not easy for K-1 inputs. Needs some more explanation on sale of K-1. Not easy to print state return.
